Izell Reese
During a NFL career spanning seven years, Izell spent the majority of his NFL experience with the Dallas Cowboys, but also played with the Denver Broncos and the Buffalo Bills before retiring in 2005. Today, as an NCSA Educational Speaker, Reese shares his personal experiences and educates coaching staffs and families on how to maximize each student-athletes true collegiate recruiting potential.
Izell Reese joins NCSA as a former high school student-athlete who understands the recruiting process at many levels. Reese had aspirations of playing at the college level but that college experience almost didn't happen. In high school, the star football player thought he knew everything he needed to know about the recruiting process. As a senior, Reese waited to be noticed and discovered by college coaches but the opportunities he expected did not surface. Although Reese was unaware of how to maximize his recruiting experience, fortunately he was accepted as a walk on at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he became a four year varsity starter and earned his way to a full scholarship after his freshman year. After a successful collegiate football career, Reese became the second player in the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s history to be drafted by the NFL in 1998.
